With dates, chickpeas and oats, this chocolate cake is easy and great for your health! Made with lactose free, coco or soja cream you even have a lactose free cake! If you tolerate oat gluten, this can even work as a healthier option for people avoiding gluten.

Chickpea Brownies Recipe
- 250 g chickpeas
- 250–300 g dates, pitted
- 90 g rolled oats
- 25 g cocoa powder
- 200 ml milk
- 30 g baking chocolate chips
- 1 packet baking powder (about 15 g)
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 small cream carton (brand Diela)
Preparation :
Put in a microwave-safe bowl the oat and the milk. Heat in 30 seconds intervals until warm.
Once the milk is well warm, put the mix of oat and milk in a measuring cup or a blender cup.
Let it rest while you are preparing the rest of the ingredients.
Such as pitting the dates.
Once the oat is well soaked of the milk and the ingrédients prepared.
Put the salt, the baking powder, the cocoa powder and the dates.
Blend until smooth.
Then, add the cream and mix till the batter is homogenous.
Then add the chocolate chips and mix again.
Once everything is mixed and the batter smooth, pour the batter into the molds.
Bake for 30 minutes at 180C° (356 °F) using fan/convection mode.
You can eat the cake the day you make it, but at home, we find it better once we let it rest a whole day at room temperature. To keep it in the best condition, keep it covered with a clean kitchen towel. That will keep the cake from drying too fast or excess moisture from condensation.
